Sharing another family recipe and this time it is the absolute best homemade chocolate frosting! It's so easy to make and so versatile to top cookies, cupcakes, cakes and so much more!

Recipe:
6 tbsp softened butter (slightly melted)
1 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp honey
6 tbsp cocoa power
2 cups powdered sugar
2-4 tbsp milk (I used half and half)

Mix together the butter, honey, vanilla and cocoa until thick and fudgy. Add in one cup at a time of powered sugar followed by 1 tbsp of milk alternativing until it's fully combined. If you need to add more milk to thin it out, add up to 4 tbsp gradually!

Peanut butter cookies for Easter! 🐇 This is truly yummiest cookie recipe with two different ways to serve them with an Easter twist! The recipe for the chocolate frosting is coming tomorrow! 🍫

Cookie Recipe:
1 cup natural peanut butter
2/3 cup white sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1.5 tbsp of vanilla
1/2 tsp cinnamon (trust me)
1/2 tsp baking soda
Pinch of salt

Mix all ingredients except the peanut butter together until smooth. Add the peanut butter until just come bind. Chill the dough in the fridge for at least 30 minutes or up to a few hours! Scoop the chilled out into balls roll and sugar in place on a parchment lined baking sheet bake these at 325 for 13 to 15 minutes.

The perfect Carrot Cake bars with thick, homemade cream cheese frosting that will be on your rotation for Spring desserts year after year! 🥕🐰☕

RECIPE:
2 cups of almond flour
1/3 cup of coconut flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup of brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 eggs
1/2 cup of maple syrup
2 tbsp vanilla
2/4 cups of shredded carrots (freshly shredded)
1/2 cups of chopped pecans (optional)

Frosting:
2 packages of softened cream cheese
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups (to taste) of powdered sugar

Add all dry ingredients to a large mixing bowl and mix together. Add in the eggs, syrup and vanilla and mix until well combined (batter will be thick). Stir in the carrots and pecans. Add the batter to a 8 x 8 greased pan (or lined with parchment paper) and bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.

For the frosting, in a mixer add the cream cheese and vanilla until smooth. Add in 1 cup at a time of the powdered sugar. Add a little more until it is the desired flavor and texture. Frost the cake when it has completely cooled!

Store in the fridge!

If you make one treat for Easter let it be these Triple Peanut Butter Treats! 🐇 Filled with peanut butter, Reese's Pieces Eggs and Reese's Puff Bunnies, they are absolutely delicious!

RECIPE:
1/4 cup butter
1 bag of mini marshmallows (10 Oz)
Reese's Puff Bunnies Cereal (about 4 cups)
1/4 cup of peanut butter, melted
Crushed Reese's Pieces Eggs (as desired)
More Reese's Pieces Eggs to top

Melt the butter. Add in the marshmallows, mixing until melted. Add in the peanut butter and stir on low heat until fully incorporated. Remove from heat and add in the Reese's Puff Bunnies! Once incorporated, add in the crushed Reese's eggs. Put mixture into an 8 x 8 greased pan, top with a few additional eggs and let fully cool!

RECIPE:
Pretzels (about 8 oz)
1 cup salted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
Easter Sprinkles (as desired)

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together, stirring continuously until it gently boils. Add in the vanilla extract and continue to stir, allowing it to boil for one minute. Spread your pretzels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and drizzle the toffee mixture over the pretzels, coating them evenly. Place them in the oven for 10-15 minutes until they are bubbly. Pull them out of the oven, stir them and sprinkle on the sprinkles while they are warm! Let them cool and break them apart!

No Bake nests for Easter! These are truly the perfect three bite treat with a couple Cadbury eggs inside! The full recipe is below!

Recipe:
½ cup of butter
½ cup half and half
1 cup of brown sugar
1 cup of sugar
¼ cup of cocoa powder
2/3 cup peanut butter (can use either creamy or crunchy!)
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups of quick oats

Combine butter, half and half, sugars and cocoa powder in a small saucepan using low heat. Stir the mixture frequently until fully melted and incorporated. Once incorporated, turn the heat up to medium and let the mixture come to a boil. Boil until the mixture reaches 230 degrees. Mine takes about 2-3 minutes, but will vary depending on your stove! Once it reaches 230 degrees, remove from heat and add in the peanut butter and vanilla, stirring until the peanut butter is fully melted into the mixture. Pour over the quick oats and stir! Scoop the mixture into greased mini muffins pans, working quickly. Using the back of a spoon, dig out a little hole in the center to form the shape of a nest. Place two of 3 Cadbury eggs in the center of the cookies while they are still warm, gently pressing them into the oats. Let fully cool before removing from the pan!

The cookbooksl shelves were just so good to display the cookbooks I'm always reaching for....big shock they are mostly cookie cookbooks. 😂 But they turned out so cute next to my families framed recipes!

I added the mini lamp, my cherished bread box and a little Easter and it's perfect! 🐇

This year I'm cooking + baking my way through my families recipes! Sharing the full series on Tik Tok but a few of the highlights here! The second recipe I tried are these Snickers Surprise Cookies. There are very few things I love baking more than a good cookie and these way exceeded my expectations! They were so simple to make in one bowl with no chilling required! I will definitely be making these again and again! The full recipe is below!

1 cup of margarine (I used butter)
1 cup of brown sugar
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3 ½ cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 bag of bite sized Snickers

Mix together the butter/margarine, and sugars until smooth. Add in the vanilla and the eggs and mix until incorporated. Slowly add in the baking soda and flour (one cup at time) until its just combined. Using a cookie scoop, scoop the dough into your hand and slighting flatten adding a mini Snickers in the middle and folding the dough around the candy, adding a little extra dough on top to fully cover the Snickers. Shape the cookie into a nice round ball, do not flatten, and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake at 325 for 15-17 minutes (mine needed 19 with the larger size!). The are done with the tops are just set.

1. Cozy lighting made by candles is always a must! Fun tapers, clusters of pillars or votives are easy ways to add into any theme!

2. Linen Napkins!! I love a cutsey paper cocktail napkins but if a napkin is incorporated into a place setting linen is a beautiful way to elevate each place setting!

3. Personalized place settings! I think this is the perfect way to make your guests feel so welcome! I bought these cute acrylic cutouts from Etsy and have reused them through so many holidays and parties!

4. Festive Glassware! Arguably the easiest way to tie in a theme is some gorgeous glassware! My collection is huge, grown slowly over time, and it's one of my first stops when I've picked out a party theme! But it's not just glassware! You can use fun ice molds (like the pictured grinch) or drink stirrers to elevate the glassware!

5. Fresh flowers or greenery make the perfect addition to every table! Especially in the Spring and Summer!

Finally, table snacks! having anything on the table encourages guests to linger longer in conversation during any gathering. during the holidays I love to use my viral toffee pretzel recipe or candy nuts and in the Spring and Summer having an easy treat like cookies or dessert make the perfect answer to table snacks!

I love love love tapers! I've been building a collection for quite a while and it's so inexpensive! You can mix and match colors or patterns and they make any table feel beautiful and fancy!

No. 2: Ribbon
Another item that's fun to have a little stash of! The perfect sized cake for two! So fun for Valentines day or date night in! 🍫❤️

RECIPE:
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
½ tsp salt
1/4 cup butter
1 1/2 Tbsp cocoa powder
1 egg yolk
1 1/2 Tbsp half and half (or milk)
1/4 cup hot water
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla

Mix together flour, sugar & salt in a mixing bowl and set aside. In a small pan, combine butter, cocoa powder and water. Stir together until butter is fully melted and mixture comes to a boil. Pour the mixture over the flour mixture and stir to combine. Add in the milk, vanilla, baking soda and the egg yolk until just combined. Pour into a 9 x 7 greased baking pan. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes (until toothpick comes out clean). As soon as the cake comes out, make the frosting.

FROSTING:
2 Tbsp butter
1 1/2 Tbsp milk (half and half or regular milk)
1 Tbsp cocoa powder
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla

In a small sauce pan combine butter, milk, cocoa powder and powdered sugar. Stir continuously until the butter melts fully and ingredients are incorporated but do not allow it to boil! Remove from heat, add vanilla. Pour the hot frosting over the cake and let it cool completely. Frosting will set as it cools!
